Wymack was sure having a normal routine again would help. Classes were supposed to start Thursday though, and the spring season kicked off the following week. What should have been two weeks passed like three, and Neil's internal clock was going haywire even after two days back in South Carolina. He'd agreed to spend Christmas break at Edgar Allan, but the Ravens operated on sixteen-hour days during their holidays. Neil hoped it was the former, but the knot in his stomach predicted otherwise.

Either Wymack didn't trust Neil to keep his promise not to practice until he was fully healed or Neil had lost track of time again. Neil didn't think they'd been here long enough for Wymack to finish his paperwork. He'd left the court door open behind him, and now David Wymack stood in the doorway. Neil lolled his head to one side to look at his coach. They hadn't been there before the Foxes split up for Christmas and Neil wondered what Allison would say when she saw them. There was one for each of the Foxes, including the late Seth Gordon. He counted rows of alternating orange and white seats until they blurred into an indistinct mess near the rafters, then studied the spring championship banners hanging in numerical order around the stadium.

He lay flat on his back on the half-court line and soaked it in.

If you're looking to get obsessed with a rowdy, underdog sports team full of dysfunctional (loveable) idiots, then please check out this series! Read moreĮven after a semester at Palmetto State University and a couple weeks practicing on the largest Exy stadium in the United States, Neil was still struck breathless by the Foxhole Court. I would gladly spend many more hours with the characters inside this world. The conclusion is satisfying, yet leaves me wanting more. I'm not sure what else to say about this book, except that I devoured it and was left totally obsessed. That boy is a mystery that I find impossible to read, and he totally kept me guessing. The characters really make this series, and honestly I blame them for the book hangover this gave me - I just couldn't stop thinking about their stories! Andrew is still the centre of my attention, and he once again kept me captivated by all the layers of his personality. I've had a lot of questions about character's pasts, and this book delivers those answers I was hoping for. As the team heads to finals their Exy games become more and more intense, keeping me quite literally on the edge of my seat as I rooted for the team I've come to care so deeply about. Plotlines escalate and converge - the relationship between the Foxes, their rivalry with the Ravens, and Neil's dangerous connections to his crime family past.

This series has a lot of dark moments, and as we reach the finale things aren't exactly letting up. I usually try to draft a review as soon as I finish a book, but all I wrote for this was "Wow wow wow I would bleed for my Foxes" which I think sums up my feelings pretty well. They have stolen my heart and I don't think they're planning on giving it back. I liked the characters before, but now I love them all hopelessly. I really didn't expect to get so attached. It's an incredible conclusion to a series that I think gets better with each book, once again upping the stakes to give us drama, teamwork, and some pretty intense sports. I stayed up for FIVE HOURS finishing this because I couldn't bear to put it down. It was the best kind of finale, with everything from the previous books coming to a climax. I needn't have worried, this book is one hell of a last hurrah.
